We are here to provide you with accurate information about ticks and the diseases they carry, and to help you avoid contracting those diseases by prompt, accurate identification of the tick that bit you for your physician's review, and strategies to avoid ticks altogether.

If you live in many parts of the United States, you are at risk of Lyme disease and other tick-borne illnesses.  We provide services and information that will empower you to lower your risk of contracting these debilitating diseases. Here, you will learn why it is not in your best interests to surf the web and do your own tick identification because expertise and a microscope are necessary to identify most ticks correctly. 

In addition, we use a scientific method to determine the duration of attachment -- how long the tick was feeding -- which is critical in determining the risk of tick-borne disease. A report of this information will be faxed to your physician so you can be treated with antibiotics immediately if indicated.

Located in the Pocono Mountains of Northeastern Pennsylvania, we specialize in ticks and diseases carried by ticks. Our customers value the ability to have ticks identified and measured for attachment duration. We are also able to have your tick(s) tested by an outside DNA laboratory for an additional fee.

Our founder, Jacquelyn Hakim, MS, MPH, has over 35 years of experience in Public Health, managing a county agency for 25 years. She has been invited to present to countless organizations across the United States on ticks and tick-borne illnesses. She has also co-authored several articles and books about other arthropod-borne diseases and their control.
